Baptisms at St. Andrew's
Baptism is one of the two great sacraments given by Christ to his Church (the other being Holy Communion--the Eucharist). We simply love baptisms at St. Andrew's! We believe that through the "outward and visible sign" of water, the person being baptized finds union with Christ in his death and resurrection, birth into God's family the Church, forgiveness of sins, and a new life in the Holy Spirit.
We do allow for children and infants to be baptized, believing that they, too, can "share citizenship in the Covenant." Of course, infants and younger children cannot make promises on their own, so parents and sponsors (godparents) make promises on their behalf to guarantee that these children will be brought up within the Church, to know Christ, and to follow Him.
