SPIRITUAL AWAKENINGS (During School Year)
SUNDAY'S at 9:30 AM - (St. Alban's Hall)
Begun in 1987 by Stuart Hoke, this class explores topics and issues relating to the spiritual journey of all Christians.
Over the past 25 years, the class has studied various books: such classic theological books as The Great Divorce and the Screwtape Letters by C. S. Lewis; popular novels, such as The Shack. We have used the resources of the Teaching Company to review the Old and New Testament through outstanding university professors such as Dr. Bart Ehraman and Dr. Amy-Jill Levine. In addition we have used the resources of local community religious leaders and academic experts on a variety of topics.
The class is designed for all those who enjoy a discussion format and who are continuing to explore the questions and answers in their life-long journey with God!
Sunday, September 11 (for the next several Sundays)
Michael Grauer, Associate Director at the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum, will begin a study entitled: "As God Has Made It: Painting the American Southwest Before 1900". Mr. Grauer will use a powerpoint presentation to lead a discussion of the spiritual philosophy of transcendentalism, as espoused by such authors as Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry David Thoreau, and Louisa May Alcott.
Mr. Grauer holds a BFA in a painting and art history from the University of Kansas and MA in art history from SMU. He has worked at the Smithsonian Museum, The Meadows Museum, and the Dallas Museum of Art. He is the author of numerous essays and catalogues on American Art and has lectured at WTAMU, Taos, and New York on historic Southwestern art.
UNDERGROUND CHRISTIANS (During School Year)
SUNDAY'S at 9:30 AM - (St. Gregory Hall)
This class is based on the members sharing their stories (one could say their spiritual journeys). We can get really silly and disturb other classes with our outbursts of laughter. We study the order of worship, talk about current events and how they affect our world, our lives and beliefs. Sometimes we even pray! Almost any topic can be used in our discussions. This journey helps us deepen our relationship with God, as well as with each other.
There is a wide range of ages represented in the class, and all are welcome to join us at any time.
LITURGY 101
The First Sunday (only) Of Each Month at 9:30 AM - (Children's Chapel)

Sunday, September 18: Cliff Craig - The Book of Common Prayer
Our red Prayer Book is commonly misunderstood by those outside the Episcopal church, and adored by those within. Join us in exploring this rich treasure and gaining a new or deeper understanding of a work largely attributed to Archbishop Thomas Cranmer.
Sunday, October 2: Cliff Craig - The Book of Common Prayer
Our red Prayer Book is commonly misunderstood by those outside the Episcopal church, and adored by those within. Join us in exploring this rich treasure and gaining a new or deeper understanding of a work largely attributed to Archbishop Thomas Cranmer.
Sunday, November 6: David Stidham - Architecture of the Nave
You may have wondered...WHAT is that and WHY is it there? Come learn why our church building and our worship space is built in such a way that it connects the people with one another, yet allows us to be aware of a deeply intimate and holy presence of Christ.
Sunday, December 4: Susan Milligan - Music & Liturgy
The term "liturgical music" sounds scary and formal, but the music we use in our services is simply one more medium for enhancing the beauty and meaning of our worship. this class will attempt to de-mystify the navigation of the hymnbook, and explain some of those cryptic musical notations we encounter along the way in a regular service.

CATECHESIS OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD
We are including this course as an adult offering in Christian Formation to address the demand for a class with less demands than the 4 year E.F.M. curriculum.
The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a Christian Formation program for children 3 - 12 years of age in which a trained adult helps awaken children to their personal response to God. It seeks to create and facilitate a sacred, "hands-on" space for children called an atrium in which both the children and the adult catechists can hear, ponder, and celebrate the most essential mysteries of the Christian faith as revealed in the Scriptures and Liturgy.
Kay Brizzolara, the formation leader, has been involved in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd for thirteen years. Trained in all three levels of the catechesis program, she is certified by the National Association of the Catechesis Of The Good Shepherd to lead adult formations.
