A special evening of strings and solo bassoon, this concert will leave you reflecting on the themes of The Five Variants of Dives & Lazarus by Ralph Vaughan Williams, Adam Schoenberg’s Breath, written during COVID and deeply personal Metamorphosen by Richard Strauss. We will also spotlight the Amarillo Symphony’s principal bassoonist Conor Bell with Connor Chee’s Concert for Bassoon. Marvel at the sonority of sound as George Jackson leads our strings in an evening of all the emotions.
A pre-talk hosted by High Plains Public Radio will begin at 6:45, followed by the concert at 7:30.
