We believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who reveals God’s love, became fully human, and through his life, death, and resurrection brings forgiveness, reconciliation, and new life. Through baptism, we are made members of Christ and heirs of God’s kingdom.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, God present and active in the world today, who leads us into truth, shapes us in Christ’s likeness, and draws us into love and harmony with God, one another, and all creation.
Written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, these texts bear witness to God’s activity in creation and history and proclaim the life and teaching of Jesus Christ and the Good News of the Kingdom of God.
We call the Scriptures the Word of God because God inspired their human authors and continues to speak through them. By the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the Church receives and interprets the Scriptures for faith and life.
As Episcopalians, we are followers of Jesus Christ our Lord, and believe in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We follow the Constitution and Canons of the Episcopal Church and we are guided by the pastoral care a leadership of the Bishop of the Diocese of Northwest Texas.
The mission of the Church is to restore all people to unity with God and each other in Christ. The Church pursues its mission as it prays and worships, proclaims the Gospel (the Good News of God's reconciling grace), and promotes justice, peace, and love.
As Presiding Bishop Michael Curry reminds us, “If it’s not about love, then it’s not about God.” Grounded in this love, the mission of the Church is to restore all people to unity with God and one another. At St. Andrew’s, clergy and laity alike celebrate the goodness of God’s creation and trust that reconciliation—not judgment—is at the heart of God’s work in the world.
In our baptism, we covenant together to continue in the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of the bread, and in the prayers; to persevere in resisting evil and to return to the Lord when we fall; to proclaim the Good News of God in Christ by word and example; to seek and serve Christ in all persons; and to strive for justice and peace while respecting the dignity of every human being. We affirm this covenant knowing that we live it only with God’s help.
St. Andrew’s is an open and affirming congregation. We welcome all people to walk with us in faith and fully participate in the life and sacramental worship of the Church, regardless of background, age, gender, sexual orientation, race, or past church experience. Here, we strive to be a place where all are known, loved, and encouraged to become who God created them to be.
